Course aim

To further develop students’ capacities as pre-service teachers to further develop the professional concepts, knowledge and skills needed to operate effectively in learning programs in preschool and school settings.

Course content

Students will develop knowledge of planning for teaching and learning using appropriate curriculums, pedagogies and resources; developing skills and attitudes in critical reflection; developing professional relationships with children, their parents/caregivers, peers, and staff in preschool/school settings; understanding the nature of teachers’ work; building on student’s funds of knowledge; creating and managing a positive learning environment. Students will then have the opportunity to practice skills in these areas during their supervised placement in preschool and school settings.
