To engage students with the Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum area and to develop effective learning strategies and resources for use within a diverse range of school settings.
Students will consider historical, geographical, ethical, economic, and futures perspectives of Humanities and Social Sciences. The course engages students with constructivist methodologies of student learning and focuses on inquiry approaches to thinking and working socially and environmentally from inclusive and critical perspectives. Students will have the opportunity to think through the many challenges involved in teaching in this diverse and complex learning area. Students will also be supported to develop and refine key knowledge, skills and values thus enabling them to construct challenging learning experiences that relate to the lives of their own future students.
