Aim

The Bachelor of Arts (Law, Policy and Politics) qualifies individuals who apply a broad and coherent body of knowledge to be critical thinkers and adept researchers in the areas of global politics and international law. It contextualises Australia’s legal and political systems in the broader context of global politics and international policy and law. Graduates will develop research and project management skills enabling them to pursue further learning in honours and higher degree research.

Content & Structure

Students will study a range of global politics, policy and legal courses that cover topics such as public international law, marginalisation in world affairs, indigenous legal systems, environmental politics and human rights. The blend of law and politics within this program will provide insight and clarity on the complex nature of international development and governance through research, case studies and problem solving using a blended learning approach.

Graduates will have a second Arts major to expand their technical, analytical and communicative skills essential for practice in the professional environments and further learning in a culturally diverse global marketplace.

Students will complete 108 units of study comprising 9 units of core courses, 36 units of an Arts specialisation, 36 units of a second Arts major, 18 units of a minor, and 9 units of electives.
