Entry requirements
Applicants should have a completed Bachelors degree in a related discipline from a recognised higher education institution or equivalent qualification. This degree will have strength in geospatial science and will reside in disciplines such as Geographical Information Systems, Science, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management and Geography. Applicants must have passed university coursework with the following content:- Maps and coordinate systems
- Geographical information systems
- Urban Planning
- Remote Sensing
- Land Surveying including GPS
- Earth Systems/Geology
- Mathematics (preferably engineering mathematics)
- Physics
Graduates of the UniSA Bachelor of Geospatial Science are eligible for entry to this program.
English language entry requirements
In addition, international students who speak English as a foreign language must have obtained one of the following standards within the last two years prior to admission. Possession of one or more of these qualifications, in addition to the academic entry requirements, does not, in itself, guarantee a place at the University of South Australia. Applications are considered on an individual basis and selection is competitive. Aim
To prepare students who possess the theoretical background, professional ethics and practical skills necessary to undertake professional land surveying measurements and analysis.
Content & Structure
The program comprises 15 courses (72 units) over a two year period including one course taught by the University of Tasmania via distance education and cross-institutional enrolment. An exit point is available at the successful completion of first year with the award of Graduate Diploma in Surveying.
The normal mode of enrolment is full time (8 x 4.5 unit courses) in year 1, followed by full-time study (6 x 4.5 unit courses, and 1 x 9 unit course) in year 2. However, this program can be completed in part-time mode in consultation with the Program Director.
