Course aim

To explore relevant aspects of real property law and associated details related to land tenure and land title systems.
To examine the legal and administrative processes associated with undertaking land division and cadastral surveys in general, and the accompanying responsibilities of the surveyor.

Course content

Property law relating to interests in land. Land title systems; Native title; Old System; Torrens title. Original subdivision of crown land in South Australia. Acts and regulations relating to cadastral surveying and land administration. Statutory framework for regional and local planning. Land use, zoning. Site survey and analysis. Development applications and administration.
