To introduce students to the fundamentals of statistics and least squares adjustment theory and the application of these techniques to the analysis of surveying observations.
Revision of basic statistics. Error propagation and analysis. Least squares theory; modelling of observations; general and parametric methods. Solution of linear equations and inverses. Error ellipses. Least squares adjustments in surveying and geodesy. Control network optimization.
