School of Natural and Built Environments
To apply surveying knowledge and experience to a significant surveying problem.
Students who undertook an urban cadastral project in Surveying Project 1 are required to undertake a rural cadastral project in Surveying Project 2. This project will be practically oriented and be set at a level of survey and analysis similar to, but not as complex in nature as that normally encountered in a cadastral project presented for licensing to the Surveyors Board of SA. The project will be supervised by a staff member of the University and a master surveyor from the profession.
Non-Cadastral surveying projects will also be practically oriented, aimed at solving a problem and will be reported by way of a major report. Each student will be allocated a supervisor from the University.
The results of all projects will be presented to the University and the Surveyors Board of SA.
