Course aim

To provide a theoretical and practical extension to the determination of coordinates via the use of GNSS/GPS, the design of satellite based network control systems and the use of GNSS/GPS in geodetic and cadastral surveys.

Course content

Overview of satellite positioning systems. GPS surveying and baseline measurements. Advanced GPS and geodetic precision techniques/software. Network design and adjustment. Combination of terrestrial and GPS data in geodetic control networks. Height determination using GPS and geoid interpolation. Planning and implementing advanced surveys (including engineering, monitoring, geophysical and GIS) utilising RTK, DGPS and high precision GPS technology. Analyses of GPS survey networks.
