To provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical application of organisational behaviour, leadership, and management, exploring and critically appraising different forms in varying organisational, cultural, and industry settings. Discuss and appraise the relationship between an organisation's culture, its leadership, and its employees and develop strategies for managing performance.
Organisational behaviour, management, and leadership; why leaders matter; leadership traits, styles, and characteristics; adaptive leadership approaches; increasing leadership effectiveness; person-organisation fit; individual and team work factors; organisational culture; organisational and job design; motivation; control and performance management. Explore and evaluate the different approaches to the role of the leader as a decision-maker, influencer, developing a vision for the future of an organisation, and aligning the organisation and its members to that vision.
