The South Australian State Emergency Service (SES) is a volunteer-based organisation partnering with communities to build disaster resilience in the event of heatwaves, storm and flood events. UniSA students from the Community Service Learning Program are invited to assist with the delivery of this program.

SES Projects

The SES works in close collaboration with the South Australian Police and Country Fire Service responding to:

  • Extreme weather events
  • Road accidents
  • Rescues.

The SES is seeking a UniSA student to work with the South Australian community around emergency preparedness. The student will assist with conducting a review of selected existing programs and identify recommendations for the SES suggesting strategies for community behaviour change.

This opportunity is open to students of all disciplines, and would particularly suit someone with strong analytical abilities, an eye for detail, excellent written communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
