An opportunity for UniSA's engineering, business, environmental science, and marketing students, participating in the Community Service Learning Project.
Projects with CORENA
South Australia’s Citizens Own Renewable Energy Network Australia (CORENA) is a pioneer in the community energy sector. It operates a revolving fund, currently over $270,000, which has grown from scratch over the last five years on the strength of individual donations, primarily donors who want to do something positive about climate change. The fund is used to make loans to community groups to put solar panels on buildings or improve energy efficiency.
CORENA is wholly run by volunteers with a range of engineering, environmental advocacy, policy, business and legal backgrounds. CORENA members and project are located around Australia and the volunteering core is located in Adelaide.
Projects are offered to teams of three or more UniSA students with components that include:
- Improving project flow and systems
- Volunteer recruitment and training
- Strategic planning and business model
- Exploring Partnerships
- Marketing

Additional student requirements:
In addition to the training and clearance requirements for Community Service Learning Project, students wishing to undertake this project may be required to have the following checks and training:
- Current National Police Check
- Responding to Abuse and Neglect (RAN) Training
