UniSA has the most Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university students in South Australia. We offer dedicated services to help you transition to university, such as special entry, pre-selection and uni preparation assistance. You’ll get one-on-one support right throughout your studies through Wirringka Student Services.
The different entry criteria you can use to qualify for university include:
The APP is a free* program that helps prepare students with no previous qualifications for university study. It is delivered in Whyalla, Mt Gambier, Port Lincoln and Ceduna. The APP is flexible and supportive, with advantages like mentoring, tutoring, online and on-campus study, and accommodation and travel support for remote students.
*Aboriginal Pathway Program students are not charged course fees but may be required to pay Student Amenities Fees as determined by the Australian Government
If an Aboriginal applicant holds a qualification that enables them to compete using any of the existing methods (e.g. using year 12 or a bridging program), the applicant will compete through the process outlined in the admission criteria.
UniSA’s Wirringka Student Services team manages the process for Aboriginal Admissions Scheme. To apply under Aboriginal Admissions Scheme you are invited to complete a written application and literacy and/or numeracy tasks. Eligibility for admission into a degree is based on your performance in these tasks. Get in touch with the Wirringka Student Services representative for the campus your desired degree is on for further information.
We provide flexible study choices that fit in with your lifestyle, including study options where you don’t have to attend a university campus. UniSA degrees are well regarded for their practical aspects that give you workplace experience and prepare you for a professional career.
