To provide students with the fundamentals of the statistical analysis of data for strategic decision making in business and management.
The course content is based around three main themes; the identification and handling of data, the estimation and testing of data, and the interpretation and presentation of data. Topics will include:
Introduction to data analysis; data cleaning and handling techniques; sampling selection; estimation methods (e.g. ordinary least squares); hypothesis testing; simple and multiple linear regression; ANOVA; multivariate analysis; business intelligence and organisational requirements for data; application of data analysis for business decision making.
