Professional Communication

Course aim

To develop students' written and oral communication skills in a professional context using a wide range of professional and technical texts, and to develop students' skills in planning, drafting, evaluating, and editing written, oral and visual communication content.

Course content

Students will gain specialist skills and knowledge in professional and technical writing skills; professional presentations; effective communication within the workplace; and theories of communication using the principles of reader-centredness, useability and persuasiveness.
