Course aim

The aim of this course is to extend theoretical and practical knowledge of how advertising works by critically evaluating advertising in an applied setting from both the advertiser's and agency's perspective.

Course content

Managing advertising as part of the marketing process; understanding theory and practical issues; the advertising budgeting and planning process; and working with advertising agencies and others to produce effective advertising.

It is preferable to complete MARK 5025 Marketing Management prior to undertaking this course however it may be taken concurrently to facilitate program progression. NOTE: Students enrolled in MBA programs are required to undertake BUSS 5245 Strategic Marketing instead of MARK 5025 Marketing Management as the prerequisite/corequisite course.
