Description

The English as an Additional Language courses are designed for students for whom English is a foreign language (international students) and students of English as a Second Language who have complete SACE Stage 2 or equivalent study. These courses provide a pathway of English language study or specific courses for students which aim to: extend their spoken and written communication capabilities from an intermediate to an advanced level; develop their performance in a range of academic tasks in their fields of interest; analyse the role of English in their specific discipline; develop their understanding and application of linguistic and intercultural analyses within a specific professional environment.

Notes

  1. Students must complete both 3A and 3B level courses (or equivalent) for the major in English as an Additional Language.
  2. Students complete 36 units of courses for the Major, 27 units for the Sub-major and 18 units for the Minor. Students may choose electives in place of the Professional Language Application Projects. These electives may be chosen from a related field and must be approved by the Program Director.
