To extend students’ understanding of language and culture in the language studied.
Students will develop advanced language proficiency and knowledge of cultural and intercultural dimensions consistent with the research project designed in consultation with the course coordinator and relevant languages staff. Available topics will be published annually in course information booklets and will generally be drawn from the topics, themes or authors covered as part of the major sequence of courses in the language. Other topics may be offered subject to the availability of staff and resources. The project topic and design may also emerge from student’s in-country study or internship experience.
