To enable students to develop capacities and demonstrate practice consistent with their role as developing student teachers within schools and their communities.
Students will undertake supervised placements and will develop skills in using curriculum frameworks for planning, programming, implementing, assessing, recording, reporting and evaluating learning programs for extended periods, developing skills and attitudes in critical reflection, understanding the nature of teachers work, managing the learning environment including issues of collaboration, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation, centrality of teacher-student relationships to learning, building connections with parents/ caregivers, emotional work of teaching, negotiating the complexity of the mentor-student teacher relationship and collecting, analysing and presenting data on professional practice.
