To develop students’ mastery, relative to specialisation, in applying research for design practice, design processes, strategies and professional practices to the realisation of a major supervised design project, undertaken concurrently with a minor design project.
Students will refine skills acquired through previous design studios and integrates closely with aims and objectives of Masters Design Studio 3, via a major supervised design project, concurrent with a minor design project. Students will further develop skills in research for design practice, critical thinking applied to complex design problems, consideration to broader global issues within contemporary design contexts, collaboration with industry and/or interdisciplinary academic groups. Students will integrate knowledge of consultation and interaction with clients, resource experts, mentors, suppliers and external third party experts with skills in advanced drawing and design simulation, presentation of complex information and concepts, professional practice, verbal communication and general professional interface.
