Researching Communication in the Organisational Context CM

Course aim

To introduce students to qualitative research methods in communication studies and practice in researching a wide range of issues and problems relevant to current organisational and strategic communications practices.

Course content

Organisational communication theory - its history, scope and major paradigms; current approaches to both theory and practice; the contemporary organisational world: decision-making, problem solving, strategic communication, conflict management and organisational ethics, organisational power and politics, organisational change, leadership and new information technologies; qualitative research approaches in communication studies.
