Description

The Social Media major addresses the use of social media in contemporary society. This major will examine our widespread use of social media as a communication channel, and to critically analyse the role and prevalence of social media in contemporary society.

  1. Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing (MBJR) and Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing/ Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing) (MBJC) students select these courses as a sub-major. Note that students should choose either COMM 3081 or MARK 3024.
  2. Bachelor of Communication and Media (MBCD) students select these courses as a sub-major.
  3. Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing (MBJR) and Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing/ Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing) (MBJC) students select this course as a minor
  4. These courses will be offered in Study Periods 1,3,4 or 6.
  5. Bachelor of Creative Industries (DBCI) students select either COMM 3081 or MARK 3024 as part of the major.
