The Master of Management provides contemporary management skills and study areas such as project management, leadership and strategy. You will gain the confidence to manage organisations and achieve business objectives in an efficient and effective manner.

You will be immersed in real-world challenges and have access to industry placements, overseas study tours and elective courses to suit your personal and professional development needs. During your studies you will develop an advanced understanding of business and management, and graduate with the capabilities to be a successful leader and decision-maker in any business setting.  

You will benefit from a range of experience-based learning opportunities, including overseas study and business mentoring by a senior business leader through the Executive Partners Program. Our summer and winter schools offer exciting study and learning opportunities. With options such as intensives and internships, you can spread your study load across the year, increase your exchange opportunities or fast track your degree.

If your career interests are specifically aligned to a particular industry, you may consider pursuing a specialisation in Advertising and Brand ManagementHuman Resource Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or Tourism and Event Management.

What you'll learn

BUS01.pngThe Master of Management comprises 12 courses. You will complete four Business School core courses and four management courses. Through these you will develop skills and expertise in areas that include:

  • business ethics
  • people, leadership and performance
  • managing the global workforce
  • entrepreneurship and innovation
  • managing change

You will also complete four postgraduate electives – two from the management specialisation and two from the Business School. This will enable you to develop skills from selected key disciplines essential for management in business.

Study hours

For each course you study, you will need to allocate time for various classes such as lectures, tutorials, workshops, seminars and practicals. Plus you will need additional hours to study in your own time to complete assignments, readings and projects and contribute to online discussion forums (independent study). So as a general rule, if you are studying full-time you would need to allocate 12 – 26 hours of study when at university and 14 – 28 hours of independent study per week.

As a student at the University of South Australia you will have unique access to work placement opportunities, overseas study tours and exchanges, networking events, internships, guest speakers and more.

Our campuses are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including modern lecture theatres, libraries, workshops, laboratories, and areas that simulate real work environments. These are all supported by the latest technologies and a 24/7 online learning platform. We have health services on campus, gymnasiums, technology zones and great student lounges. The Business Student Hub is a convenient, central support service for Business School students, from first year through to graduation. The team provides expert advice on study options, elective choices and any academic difficulties. It also helps with referrals to support services across the University. The Business Student Hub is there to facilitate your life at university, so you get the most out of your UniSA experience.

International Student Services will make your life at university easier. We want you to be successful, and if you need help we will be there to assist. Support services include:

This degree is offered online. With interactive online course materials and a 24/7 learning environment you can organise your study to suit your lifestyle. You can:

Our learnonline facilities include a personal learning environment with virtual classrooms, lecture recordings, emails, learning support, administration, library access and results. Your program director

Prior to joining UniSA, I have had more than 20 years’ experience in business as a professional architect managing the design and project management of large and complex building projects. At UniSA I am responsible for the design, management and delivery of a number of postgraduate courses in the Business School. My area of research interest is in strategic knowledge management to support organisational sustainability in times of change and disruptions.
