Aim

The Master of Finance is designed to equip students with the key knowledge and practical skills required for employment in a modern globalised financial sector. In particular the Master of Finance will provide students with both an advanced understanding of the theory of finance and well developed, practical research skills. Students completing this program will be well equipped to deal with practical issues in the financial services sector based on a strong platform of advanced concepts in finance. Students will also have the preparation required for undertaking a rigorous research program in finance and finance-related areas.

Content & Structure

The program requires the completion of 16 courses totalling 72 units including four Business School core courses, eight finance courses (four core finance courses and four additional finance courses), two research courses and two electives.

The four core finance courses are:

  • Corporate Finance
  • Financial Theory and Financial Markets
  • International Finance and
  • Investment Management.

The additional finance courses are:

  • Advanced Corporate Finance
  • Advanced Investment Management
  • The Econometrics of Financial Markets and
  • Behavioural Finance.
