You're considered an Australian student if you are any of the following:
Postgraduate
A completed bachelor degree from a recognised higher education institution or equivalent;
OR
Work experience in a related discipline, approved by the relevant Division.Structure
This program requires completion of 18 units of study, made up of four 4.5 unit courses. Three are core courses and one is specific to the specialisation.
Content
In Mediation Theory and Practice and Advanced Mediation Theory and Practice the practical skills of mediation, including negotiation skills, balancing power, managing the mediaiton process, dealing with difficult behaviours and strong emotions, conflict coaching as well as Narrative and Transformative mediation will be dealt with. Legislative Frameworks will provide the knowledge around the legislative requirements that mediators must understand and adhere to. Family Dispute Resolution will explore issues family separation including domestic and family violence, child inclusive practice and practice issues for Family dispute resolution practitioners. These courses will provide both the practical and the theoretical knowledge that practitioners require to work in the dispute resolution field.
