Entry requirements
Applicants would normally have completed a bachelor degree in Computer and Information Science or Information Technology, or equivalent qualification.
Applicants must have passed coursework covering at least 6 areas which contain the following content (or have equivalent industrial experience)

Intermediate programming in Java, C or C++
Data structures in Java, C, or C++
Database Technology - SQL, ER modelling or UML
Systems analysis and design
Basic networking skills
Computer systems architecture
Systems development and project management methods
Information Management and database design
Use of Information Systems in contemporary organisations
Strategic Management of Information Systems

Aim

To develop graduates who are able to apply modern and advanced professional information technology skills such as computer and network security, data and web design, object-oriented and distributed systems design and modelling, in a contemporary business management context across a range of industries and applications.

Notes

1. Up to 9 units of elective courses may be chosen from Group 1. The remaining elective courses are to be chosen from Group 2 or 3. Elective course outside these groups may be approved by the Program Director.

2. Students can choose to follow one of the recommended tracks: IS track or IT track IT Track: core (4.5 units) max 9 units from Group 1 minimum of 18 units from Group 2 The rest of the courses can be from Group 2 or from Group 3 IS Track: core (4.5 units) max 9 units from Group 1 minimum of 18 units from Group 3 The rest of the courses can be from Group 2 or from Group 3 3. Elective courses are offered subject to student demand and staff availability.
