1. Students who have completed a TAFE Diploma in Community Services are eligible for 18 units of credit. Students who have completed a TAFE Advanced Diploma in Community Services are eligible for 36 units of credit.
2. Students who have successfully completed a University of South Australia Associate Degree in Correctional Administration (MTCA) are eligible for 36 units of credit.
1. The program is designed to graduate professional social workers who can function effectively in demanding environments. It satisfies professional and employer requirements through its content and its assessment processes. Students are advised that the program does require consistent participation in a wide range of potentially challenging classroom, assessment and field activities.
2. The program is four years of full-time study but may also be studied part-time.
3. Field Education consists of 980 hours of supervised placement to be undertaken during the third and fourth years. Some Field Education placements may require students to hold a current drivers licence and recognised First Aid Certificate. Police checks are required by many placement agencies.
4. Where a Whyalla student wishes to transfer to Bachelor of Social Science (Human Services) at Magill, recognition will be given for the first two years of the award for the Bachelor of Social Science (Human Services). (These programs have significant commonality in the first two years.)
5. All students complete at least one freely chosen Free Elective as part of their undergraduate program. See undergraduate elective courses
6. The program may be awarded with honours. Students are selected into the Honours stream in accordance with University policy.
