Applicants are required to meet one of the following criteria with a competitive result, and demonstrate that they fulfil any prerequisite requirements and essential requirements for admission:
Recent secondary education
Meet any prerequisite requirements with a minimum grade of C- or equivalent
AND
Applicants who have not achieved the Selection Rank required for automatic selection may be selected for any remaining places based on the grades of their year 12 subjects.

Modern construction is a complex, innovative and highly-organised commercial industry, increasingly influenced by technology and environmental considerations – including green and smart building practices – making construction a dynamic and exciting industry to work in.
As the only fully accredited degree in construction management in South Australia1, this program will prepare you to work professionally in the low rise residential and light commercial buildings sector of the growing construction industry, with employment across the industry increasing nationwide by almost 10% over the past five years2.
You will benefit from our long-standing history in construction management education with opportunities to gain real-world experience and engage with industry through placements, internships, guest lectures, industry panels, site visits and networking events.

You will study core areas of construction including law, management, communication, and materials and business, and use digital tools for data driven decision making and productivity. These will give you an excellent understanding of the role of a construction professional.
You’ll also study more complex fields such as quantity surveying, building surveying, contract administration, development regulation, development economics and fire engineering.
You will graduate career ready, with the Professional Practice Program offering the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills learnt throughout your studies in real-world settings.
With appropriate progress in this degree you can enter directly into the fourth year of the Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) to achieve a higher level qualification and the ability to attain higher levels of accreditation.
Informed by research, strengthened with industry input and taught by experienced professionals, you will be educated in contemporary theory, practice and technology, including building information modelling, thermal modelling software and immersive virtual reality.
This will prepare you to operate as an adaptable professional, rapidly learning new skills and evolving with advancements in technology and sustainable building practices. You will also have opportunities to apply your knowledge in professional settings, with these skills highly valued by employers.
Many of our students are successful in gaining employment within the construction industry prior to completing their degree, with flexible learning options via online platforms, face-to-face at our City East campus, or a mixture of both enabling your to tailor your studies to your work and lifestyle.

The industry employs over 1 million people and is projected to have an annual growth rate of 2.4% over the next five years1.

Recipients can get a 50% reduction on tuition fees for up to four years of full-time study for selected degrees.

You will have visibility of your application through the secure online portal with the ability to download offer documents, submit your acceptance and make a payment.

Postgraduate study by research

There is no closing date for submitting your application however the admissions process takes between one and three weeks from the date that we receive your application and all required supporting documentation.
If you are completing an Australian year 12 qualification in Australia or overseas, or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in Australia, you must apply through SATAC. Key dates for applications can be found here.
You may be eligible to receive credit or advanced standing for your chosen UniSA degree based on your previous studies, if they are in a related area at an equivalent or higher level. Receiving credit will reduce the number of courses you undertake within the degree, and may also reduce the overall duration of your degree.
The amount of credit you may be eligible to receive is assessed on a case-by-case basis by the Admissions team.
The best way to determine your eligibility to receive credit or advanced standing is to apply using our International Application System which can be found on our How to Apply page. You will need to supply detailed syllabus documents with your application.
