Course aim

To develop skills in data visualisation and communicating with data in business contexts.

Course content

Data types, exploratory data analysis, human side of visualisation: Gestalt principles; choosing effective visuals; designing and constructing effective data displays; the role of preattentive attributes in visualisation; storytelling with data; case studies to illustrate fundamental concepts and best communication practices; data visualisation and communication using Microsoft Office tools and Tableau.
