To provide students with the ability to identify, examine, interpret and debate issues in emerging property rights, community involvement in property and current issues in property.
Property; role of government, community and business in management and development of land.
Legal aspects of property; leasehold interests, mortgages, easements, caveats, restrictive covenants, tradable property rights, water rights, carbon credits, contaminated land mining rights, leasehold interests, customary title.
Valuation and management implications.
Spatial analysis with land cadastre & other data for identification of public policy issues; identification of market structures, enhancement of valuation methodologies.
