Course aim

To develop students' knowledge of appropriate education policy, curriculum planning and resourcing, multi-literacies in the arts, and to develop new technologies, 'best' contemporary arts practices, authentic evaluation, assessment and reporting.

Course content

Students will develop knowledge of arts education to practical classroom contexts, contemporary theory and practices appropriate to the evaluation of teaching, curriculum and content, learner outcomes in the context of middle and secondary schooling arts education. Students will develop their planning and presentation skills, devise a unit of work that uses the Internet, and demonstrates their knowledge of: appropriate educational policy, resources, new technologies, ‘best’ contemporary arts practice, authentic evaluation, assessment and reporting.
