Course aim

  • Apply principles of systems engineering design to real-world engineering project;
  • Demonstrate proficiency as an engineer in the relevant discipline;
  • Demonstrate a capacity to apply theory to practice; 
  • Explain the purpose and importance of nominated project deliverables in the context of an engineering project;
  • Demonstrate a capacity to solve a real engineering problem.

Course content

Students will undertake a 18 unit workplace-based project under the joint supervision of the University their employer. The project will address a problem or task relevant to the student’s area of specialisation, and pertinent to the needs and objectives of their employer. The project will involve the application of knowledge gained in the course of the student’s postgraduate study, and will demonstrate their ability to apply their knowledge to the solution of relevant complex technological problems.
