Course aim

This capstone applied design course expands knowledge base and depth in the fundamental area of producing and controlling motion, to apply, design, automate, integrate and validate coherent technical solutions.

Course content

The sequence of lectures will cover the following:

  • Introduction of industrial actuation and automation
  • Hydraulic drives and circuits
  • Pneumatic drives and circuits
  • Electrical drives
  • Relay automation
  • PLC automation
  • Piezo-electric drives
  • Servo-actuators and automation
