Course aim

To develop students' ability to produce complex pieces of writing for multiple audiences using traditional and new media, building on knowledge and skills gained in the introductory public relations writing course.

Course content

The course examines and develops students' skills in the writing process in a professional context, including ethical writing principles. Students analyse and develop advanced writing skills for specific media and professional contexts in the corporate, government and non-profit sectors. They develop knowledge about complex communication processes within corporate affairs and lobbying functions, the professional delivery of information through multiple media platforms, advanced media and public information campaign development, and writing for international audiences. Skills will be further developed in construction, development and editing of annual reports, briefs, grants and position papers.
