To build on the knowledge that students gain in introductory and developed courses by examining historical and emerging theoretical constructs, philosophies and approaches to management and leadership, and critically analysing the relationship of these approaches with the practice of organisational communication.
Students will expand on their knowledge of organisational complexity, culture, climate, and structures and their relationship to communication. Using this knoweldge, they will learn how change management, communication leadership and organisational behaviour impact on contemporary public relations practice. Skills in group work will be extended to include leadership of communication teams and project management. Students will prepare for their capstone course in industry placement.
