To provide a detailed introduction to the activities and techniques of operational Human Resource Management to people intending to be (or currently) employed in Human Resource Management practice.
Detailed introduction to the main areas and techniques of operational human resource management practice: human resource planning, job analysis and design, recruitment, selection, remuneration, performance management, human resource information systems, etc. Context in which particular techniques can be used. Different aspects of HR professional practice: differences in scope, role and activities of operational, strategic and international HR practitioners. Relationship with other areas of people management: industrial relations, human resource development, occupational health and safety. Legislative, social, labour market contexts in which HR decision making occurs.
