To enable students to understand various factors that influence emerging demand and business opportunities in international tourism contexts. To apply a range of conceptual and analytical skills in predicting demand trends, opportunities, and tourist consumption behaviour.
Psychological and economic concepts behind predicting market trends; the impacts of changing market demand on international tourism business; social trends and changes influencing people’s behavioural patterns; the ‘new’ consumer behavior; the psychology of consumption patterns; the unique nature of experiential consumption; Demand trends for emerging tourism products and ‘new’ destinations; the implications of changing trends on the future; application of predictive models and analytical skills to predicting demand and new business opportunities in the context of international tourism.
