In this exciting degree, you will develop an advanced understanding of contemporary management theory and how it applies to the various elements of the creative arts and cultural industries.
You will develop leadership and problem-solving abilities, and the knowledge and skills to inform policymaking at government and peak industry body levels. Your studies will cover arts management, arts philanthropy, and arts and cultural events. You will learn the complex relationships between government, not-for-profit and private sponsorship of the arts.
You will benefit from a range of experience-based learning opportunities, including overseas study trips and mentorships with a senior business leader through the Executive Partners Program. Our summer and winter schools offer exciting study opportunities, with options such as intensives, internships and global study tours. You can also spread your study load across the year, increase your exchange opportunities and fast track your degree.
If you already have a business degree or another related qualification, you could be eligible for Advanced Standing and complete this degree in just 1.5 years.
The Master of Management (Arts and Cultural Management) is made up of 16 courses: eight arts and cultural management courses, two business and management courses and six electives. Through these you will develop skills and expertise in areas that include:

As a lecturer at UniSA, my main commitment is to excellence in quality teaching and as a researcher, my main objective is to have an impact and generate greater awareness about critical issues in management and society. My research and teaching interests lie in leadership, both the good and toxic sides of leadership, gender, physical appearance, diversity, and organisational behaviour.

Postgraduate study by research

There is no closing date for submitting your application however the admissions process takes between one and three weeks from the date that we receive your application and all required supporting documentation.

You may be eligible to receive credit or advanced standing for your chosen UniSA degree based on your previous studies, if they are in a related area at an equivalent or higher level. Receiving credit will reduce the number of courses you undertake within the degree, and may also reduce the overall duration of your degree.
The amount of credit you may be eligible to receive is assessed on a case-by-case basis by the Admissions team.
