Contemporary Art Practice

Course aim

To provide students with a theoretical framework and an understanding of curatorial practices and exhibition management.

Course content

The students will develop knowledge in contemporary art practice, research and strategies, exhibition development and curatorial gallery practices. Students will extend their understanding in the breadth of curatorial strategies, develop the exhibition proposals, grant applications and funding requirements. Students will be made aware of project management, publicity, promotion and documentation of exhibition, grant writing applications and funding opportunities, arts writing and publishing, gallery safety and security, curatorial responsibilities, artists’ rights and obligations.
