Course aim

To promote intercultural awareness through considering ways that student diversity impacts on educational outcomes.

Course content

Education as a social institution; cultural capital and critical pedagogy; impacts of class, gender, race and socialisation on education outcomes; racism and race privilege; global influences on education and care; social justice in education; critical multiculturalism; cultural identity; anti-racist education; inclusive education; intercultural awareness.
