Course aim
To further develop understanding of constructivist pedagogies explored in Studies in Science and Mathematics Education and apply this understanding to planning and teaching in science and mathematics in Professional Applications and Reflections 2.
Course content
Constructivist perspectives of student learning; interactive approaches to teaching science and mathematics from years 3 to 9; key concepts embedded in the earth and space, energy systems, measurement and the spatial sense and geometric reasoning strands of the Years 3 – 9 curriculum; thinking and working scientifically and mathematically; student questions and inquiry; planning for student learning and resources that inform and support planning for such learning.
