To introduce students to the complex concepts of ‘Dynamic’ animation techniques, processes, skills, and technologies and to further develop their theoretical understanding of 3D animation.
The ‘dynamic’ animation cycle: ideas, ‘dynamic’ actions and component creation and development; the art of 3D ‘dynamics: timing ‘dynamic’ effects, hard / soft body interactions, particle motion effects, key framed and ‘MEL’ scripted ‘dynamic’ effects, dynamic expression controllers, camera effects; advanced modelling techniques: advanced polygons and advanced N.U.R.B.S. techniques, developing virtual props, stages and environments, sub-division surfaces, patches; texturing techniques: texture editor UV application, advanced hypershader nodes ; lighting types and techniques: volumetric and environmental lighting effects, particles in lighting, animating lights; production of effects and dynamics-enriched multimedia 3D computer animation pieces, character animation, lip synchronisation and expressive motion.
