Course aim

To develop students' advanced knowledge of and ability to apply psychological principles to a range of fundamental work and organisational psychology workplace issues and to further develop an understanding of the role of the psychologist in the work environment.

Course content

In this course students will develop an advanced understanding of work and organisational psychology (including, the history of work and organisational psychology, psychological health at work, organisational culture and climate, emotional regulation at work, workplace engagement, leadership and supervision, work values and attitudes, occupational stress theories, the psychology of unemployment, counterproductive workplace behaviours and workplace bullying). Students will apply their understanding of work and organisational psychology through the development of a workplace intervention and intervention evaluation.
