To provide an understanding of classical and current genetic principles, techniques, and their application.
Mendelian inheritance, independent assortment and mapping of genes, gene interaction, gene isolation and manipulation, the genetics of bacteria and their viruses, regulation of gene expression, epigenetics, DNA mutation, recombination and repair, genomics and proteomics, evolution and the inheritance of complex traits.
