Sport, Tourism and Event Practicum

Course aim

The Management Practicum assists students in developing a practical appreciation of their particular field of study within a work environment and assists them in linking concepts covered in their program to a work setting. Students are expected to engage with the organisation in either organisational management or program-based roles.

Course content

A field placement project carried out within a company or other organisation under academic and industry supervision. A requirement of the placement is the production of a comprehensive report and presentation. Student and supervisor evaluations, including personal critical reflection for the student, are also a critical component of the course.

Successful completion of 36 units of study which must include study including SPRC 1007 (DBBS students) or TOUR 1001 (DBBT students) or at the discretion of the course coordinator.
