For select engineering degrees, you can gain a bachelor and master qualification in just five years of study with our 4+1 Pathway to Masters in Engineering packages. This unique offering allows you to fast-track your studies and graduate with greater expertise and career opportunities.

These packages provide you with an opportunity to study a four-year bachelor degree and a one-year master degree (typically two years) in just five years by substituting nominated undergraduate courses or electives for selected postgraduate courses. 4+1 Pathway to Masters in Engineering packages are available for the following undergraduate degrees:

How does it work?

Fast-track your studies by undertaking a 4+1 Pathway to Masters in Engineering package. These packages provide you with the opportunity to study a four year bachelor degree and complete a master degree with just one extra year of study.

You will accelerate your progression into your master qualification by utilising the electives in your bachelor degree to complete master level courses.

What are the requirements of the program?

If you are successful in gaining entry into one of our 4+1 Pathway to Masters packages, you must successfully complete the bachelor degree in order to continue on in the master program. Detailed entry requirements and admission criteria for each bachelor degree is outlined on the individual degree pages.

How to apply


Applications to undertake a 4+1 Pathway to Masters package can be made via SATAC using the unique SATAC code for your chosen program. Once you’ve received your offer into the bachelor program, make an appointment with the your program director to discuss your study plan. You will need to ensure that you study the correct combination of courses and electives in order to complete your master qualification in one year. 


For students residing overseas who wish to undertake a 4+1 Pathway to Masters programs, please indicate this as part of your online application. Applications to study at UniSA need to be made before arriving to Australia. Register or login to the international application system to begin your application.
