Major, Minor, Sub-Major

Description

The Performing Arts sub-major and minors in Music and Drama combine a critical engagement with theatre studies theory with a complementary exploration of composition techniques across a range of genres such as songs, plays, cabaret, musical theatre, film scripts, film music, animation music and music for mass media. Students will examine the interplay between content creators, producers, performers and audiences and the ways in which it is possible to question the construction of creative work in the field of the performing arts. As observers and participants in various creative practices and contexts, students will produce their own creative and analytical performance texts through the confluence of individual and team-based work in combination with performance analysis and creative practice research.
