What you'll learn

Postgraduate Business students

The 2-year program comprises 16 courses including 4 electives and an industry placement/project.  You will start with seven core courses common to all specialisations in the International MBA.  Through these, you will develop advanced skills and expertise in areas of international management including:

  • the global business environment
  • people leadership and performance
  • economic principles for business
  • fundamentals of data analytics

You will then move into your marketing specialisation studying areas such as buyer behaviour insights, brand management, marketing strategy and planning etc.

Study hours

For each course you study, you will need to allocate time for various classes such as lectures, tutorials, workshops, seminars and practicals. Plus you will need additional hours to study in your own time to complete assignments, readings and projects and contribute to online discussion forums (independent study). So as a general rule, if you are studying full-time you would need to allocate 12 – 26 hours of study when at university and 14 – 28 hours of independent study per week.

With an International Master of Business Administration (Marketing), your expertise will be recognised internationally, expanding your marketing career opportunities across the globe. The Business Student Hub is a convenient, central support service for business students, from first year through to graduation. The team provides expert advice on study options, elective choices and any academic difficulties. It also helps with referrals to support services across the University. The Business Student Hub is there to facilitate your life at university, so you get the most out of your UniSA experience.

International Student Services will make your life at university easier. We want you to be successful, and if you need help we will be there to assist. Support services include:

Our learnonline facilities include a personal learning environment with virtual classrooms, lecture recordings, emails, learning support, administration, library access and results. We are continually investing in innovative digital technologies for a high-quality student learning experience.

Please note, all student visa holders are required to meet their visa condition to study no more than one-third of their program in an online mode and maintain enrolment in at least one internal (face-to-face) course per compulsory study period, unless it is their final course and not available internally.  If you are currently residing in Adelaide, on-campus attendance (such as seminars, workshops or examinations) and/or placements would apply, as outlined on individual course pages. If you are currently overseas, online study may be available following your individual study plan.

Your program director

The business and management programs at UniSA are globally recognised, industry focused, and designed to develop students’ managerial capabilities and prepare them for careers as leaders of the future. My qualifications include a PhD in Management, Master of Business, as well as being a Graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). I have lived and worked in several countries including Dubai, Japan, Vietnam and Singapore where I worked in senior roles for internationally recognised companies. My teaching and research focus on entrepreneurship and firm performance, consumer behaviour and marketing strategies for the tourism and hospitality industry. My extensive experience in the tourism and hospitality industry, coupled with my prior managerial roles, allow me to have a holistic, industry-focused approach to my teaching and research.
