Snapshot

Snapshot

The Graduate Certificate in Health Research is excellent for health professionals wishing to upskill in research methods. It allows the development of research capacity in the health workforce and provides a pathway for further research training.

In just six months of full-time study or one year of part-time study, you’ll learn to understand, appraise and design health research. With this solid foundation, you can go on to pursue further research qualifications, such as a Masters by Research.

What you'll learn

What you Learn

You‘ll gain a critical and practical understanding of research principles, methods, data sources, data acquisition, data analysis and interpretation of findings, all applicable to health research.

You’ll learn to confidently access, manage and analyse various types of health data. You’ll also effectively communicate, translate and disseminate research principles, theories and findings to inform policy and practice.

By accelerating your knowledge and skills to search for and critically appraise research evidence, this certificate will help you to apply evidence-based practice (EBP) into clinical decision making processes. This is now recognised as a core competency across a range of health professions.

You’ll graduate with other core research competencies including understanding research designs and formulating research questions, data acquisition and analysis, interpretation of research studies and their clinical relevance.

You’ll also have the opportunity to choose an elective from areas like qualitative research approaches or research project development.
