Course aim

To understand principles and concepts underpinning health research necessary to effectively use scientific evidence for describing the importance of a health problem, informing clinical practice, and identifying research gaps.

Course content

Causation and causal inference; epidemiology of disease, determinants of health, study designs, levels of evidence, biases, measures of association and effect size, statistical and clinical significance, systematic reviews, scientific writing, finding and using scientific evidence.
