To be eligible for selection, applicants are required to have:
Completed the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE); and
completed 200 credits of subjects;
achieved a grade of C* or better in the Personal Learning Plan, 20 credits of literacy, 10 credits of numeracy and the Research Project at Stage 2;
achieved a grade C- or better in an additional 60 credits at Stage 2;
obtained a competitive ATAR.
* For Stage 2 subjects a grade of C- or better is required
Alternatively, the minimum educational requirements may be met by those who have one of the following qualifications:
Completed the equivalent secondary education qualifications as required for university entry under SACE; or
Completed or partly completed a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution*; or
Completed at least four Open Universities Australia (OUA) courses at the appropriate level*; or
Completed a recognised diploma or advanced diploma from TAFE; or
Completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma; or
Completed the University Foundation Studies Program with a competitive GPA; or
Qualified for Special Entry.
* Normally applicants with a grade point average of 4** or better will be recognised for entry.
** A GPA of 4 refers to the UniSA grading scale which has a range of 1 - 7, other equivalent Australian and international grading scales will be considered.

To provide graduates with the education and skills necessary to be accountants in public practice, commerce and industry, and the public sector. It also provides a sound qualification for careers in business and management.
Content & Structure

1. The program comprises: a division core of eight courses; a major sequence of eight courses specific to the program; and nine elective courses.

1. The division core comprises eight courses. After Year 1, these courses are offered in both the first and second half of the year and comprise: ACCT 1008 Accounting for Business; BUSS 1058 Communication and Information Systems in Business; COML 1008 Foundations of Business Law; BUSS 1057 Business and Society; MATH 1053 Quantitative Methods for Business; MARK 1010 Marketing Principles: Trading and Exchange; ECON 1008 Principles of Economics; and BUSS 1054 Management Principles.
2. The accounting major comprises: ACCT 1008 Accounting for Business (also in the division core); ACCT 1006 Financial Accounting 1; ACCT 2005 Financial Accounting 2; ACCT 3007 Financial Accounting 3; BANK 2005 Finance and Investment; ACCT 2006 Management Accounting; BUSS 3017 Global Issues for Accounting; and ACCT 3003 Issues in Accounting Theory.
3. Students who wish to satisfy the educational requirements for admission to the professional programs of CPA Australia (to qualify as a CPA) or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (to qualify as a chartered accountant) must take the professional accounting minor which comprises: COML 2005 Companies and Partnership Law (taken in the second half of second year); ACCT 3005 Auditing Theory and Practice (taken in the first half of third year); and ACCT 3002 Taxation Law 1 (taken in the first half of third year).
4. Elective courses are to be chosen from either the Bachelor of Management (Marketing) or Bachelor of Applied Finance programs. Students may also select a minor from Communication courses offered by the UniSA School of Communication at Taylors Collecge. These courses are: COMM 1055 Public Relations 1 CMM; COMM 2037 Public Relations 2; COMM 1043 Document Design and Publication; and COMM 3006 Advertising: Images, Industry and Audience.
